Wiking Container Sideloader DB 1968-77 66702 HO Gauge

When the side stacker takes the container on the fork, container loading can be so easy: the side stacker makes it possible and takes the 40′ containers effortlessly onto the fork. That’s why Wiking presents the second copy of new shapes in a matching DB design. The container theme had done it WIKING founder Fritz Peltzer in the 1960s, when it was just beginning to prosper in the North Sea ports. At that time, no one knew how rapidly the demand for the standardised logistics boxes should grow. Peltzer in any case was right with his assessment. Numerous semi-trailers appeared in a short time in 1:87 and the original model of the side forklift was also created in that time. In addition, the Lancer Boss Sideloaders provided the model for the implementation 87 times reduction. The original belonged to the transport environment of long-cargo logistics at that time and was used in the loading of containers, tubes and timber. Especially the lateral alignment of the lifting mast and fork made the original model so attractive for the WIKING boss and even spectacular on a scale of 1:87. Around five decades passed before it came to mould making in the WIKING anniversary year – in retrospect, exactly the right occasion. Of course, the chassis and glazed cabin are exemplary designed. The entire lifting hydraulics can be imitated as with the former sideloader. There are new scenic designs that bring new scale impulses for WIKING friends and diorama builders alike.
